My main research interest lies in RNA Virus Evolution, mainly the fascinating concept of viral quasispecies and how viral population dynamics plays in the generation of fitness landscapes. Moreover, I´m interested in the combination between experimental and computational techniques to study molecular epidemiology and evolution at the genomic level of RNA viruses.
My research interests involve understanding the detailed molecular mechanisms required for RNA virus pathogenesis. In particular, I am interested in the dynamic host-pathogen interactions involved in these processes. My projects in the lab will focus on the role of genetic variability in arbovirus pathogenesis.
